Age
Our film was rated a 15 so our audience was teenagers and adults, with this we tried to make the storyline interesting to both. I think we have achieved this. The characters in the sequence are not very old and we showed this through costume mainly. The female wore a fashionable dress, with her hair in a stylish way we did this purposely to fit the 'Femme Fatale' character that are typically seen in film noir's but also to represent that she is a young girl who is aware of how she looks. A lot of film's portray young people to be fashion conscious. Some films also show young people using how they look to try and get what they want, this again is a factor in our film as she tries to use her looks to bribe the detective.
Also in the beginning of the sequence there is an argument between 'Lucy' the main character and her boyfriend, again it is very stereotypical of young people to be argumentative this is shown in this part of the sequence. Also it could be said that they strive to be more independent and do things alone. We tried to show this through the argument to show that she wants to do things alone and without the presence of her overpowering boyfriend.
There is an age difference between the detective and 'Lucy' we showed this through the way he was dressed, in a suit that was a little less fashionable. We also ensured that his reaction to the flirting showed the age difference and how he was a lot more mature. However we thought some films show older men being flattered and happy that a younger woman in flirting, we tried to show this as well. A Point of view shot was used to try and show the situation from his perspective.
